2012 Fender USA 60th Anniversary Tele-bration Empress Telecaster Vintage White 5 lbs. 6 oz.
Back in 2011, Fender USA issued a series of Telecasters to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Telecaster's introduction in 1951. This series was called the "Tele-bration" series and one of the guitars in the series was an ultra-light example made of Empress wood, an extremely strong yet light weight tonewood used for exotic musical instruments and furniture because of it's very high strength to weigh ratio. These Tele-bration Empress Telecasters remain quite popular even today because of their great tone and (very) light weight.
Offered here is a guitar from this limited run, this one being built at the end of the run in early 2012. It has a "Vintage White" finish, a Maple fretboard with a 9.5" radius, Medium/Jumbo frets, a 1.685" tusq nut and a Modern C-shaped neck. The pickups are "Hot Tele" single coils with a modern Tele control setup and wiring. This example weighs an astoundingly light 5 pounds, 6 ounces!
This guitar plays superbly and is incredibly comfortable to play. It sounds great too, with lots of Tele twang without being ear-piercing.
This guitar is in superb overall condition, with just a few flaws that you will find only upon extremely close inspection (see the included photos). The frets are in flawless condition (also pictured). An upgraded Gotoh bridge with brass saddles has been installed, although the original Fender bridge with it's steel saddles is included if you wish to convert it back to stock. It comes in a very cool 90's era Fender case along with the original paperwork, tools and the original Fender bridge.
If a super light weight, USA-made Tele at a nice price is to your liking, you are not likely to find a better example than this Tele-bration beauty. Very nice indeed!

Shipping to Continental US addresses is via FedEx Ground, with flat rate shipping of $60 to Eastern time zones, $70 Central and $80 Mountain/Pacific. Shipping to Alaska and Hawaii is $100. Refunds of the original purchase price less shipping and a 10% restocking fee may be requested within 48 hours of delivery. Exchanges within one (1) week of the original date of purchase may be made for an item of equal or greater value at the discretion of Capital Guitars. Where permitted herein, items must be promptly returned at the buyer's expense, in the same condition as received with all accessories and paperwork included. Sale items, purchases that are made via layaway, those involving trades and/or international shipping are considered final except upon an error by and at the discretion of Capital Guitars.
