Description

This one is a little tricky. The neck appears to be oversprayed but not the fingerboard. The body finish appears original but three experts disagree-one says original, the other suspects overspray a very long time ago and the other says old refinish. It black lights perfectly and shows quite a lot of checking. There is a small area under the guard where the finish was sanded off-no idea why. My theory is that a previous owner was going to strip it and after having a look at the wood, decided not to. In which case, if it was refinished or oversprayed, why wouldn't they have sprayed over it? The factory nail holes under the guard are visible and open. The neck pickup was changed out but I reinstalled the original that was in the case (lead wires were extended slightly). Original black guard. I've priced it like a refinish. Case is a modern tweed.
