1954 Fender Telecaster. This guitar features all original parts with a recent body refinish in translucent Blonde Nitrocellulose Lacquer by Fiesta Finishes™. The body has been treated to a very light relic job, with dulled finish, and some chips and dings here and there. The neck looks to have an older overspray, with replaced decal.
As this guitar is a later '54 it is one of the first "White Guard" Teles, and still retains its original dull back white guard, seen only on late '54 and '55 Telecasters. Original bridge features the original steel saddles with angled adjusting screws.
The guitar features original pickups and windings, along with original switch and pots. It is currently wired "modern" with the middle position of the switch selecting both pickups, and no "mud cap." The tuners are original Kluson "No Line" Pat. Appl.
The guitar weighs 7.5 lbs. Serial number is 33XX. The body is dated 7/54 while the neck is dated 8/54. Pots are coded 304 429, and 304 430. Neck pickup measures 5.8K Ohms, Bridge pickup measures 6.1K Ohms.
Neck is full in size, measuring .917" at 1st fret and .963 at 12th fret. There is the slightest hint of a soft "V", but nothing like the profound V necks of '56 and '57.
The guitar ships in a reproduction tweed Thermometer Case.
