Description

Here is an exceptional 1960 Fender Telecaster in its original “Lake Placid Blue Metallic” finish. Alvino Rey, a well-known jazz guitarist and Fender Endorsee, personally owned this Telecaster. Many promotional photos of Alvino using Fender’s guitars and pedal steels have been taken over the years. Fender officially introduced their custom color chart in 1961, making this a pre-color chart example of Lake Placid Blue. The guitar includes a letter from Alvino and a Christmas Card of him and his family with his guitars. Rey married into the King Family, musical giants who were responsible for the King Family Show and the King Sisters. His wife, Luise King, is also pictured in this Christmas Card. This Telecaster remains entirely original and was well-loved and well-played by Rey and his family. Clearly, they were Fender fanatics too!

Overall Condition: 7.5, wear and digs around the body, specifically around the edges and bottom of the guitar
