With 1971 neck. Refinished (pro work), Fiesta Red, new fingerboard with block inlays done in the late '70s, the previous owner claimed the original neck went through so many refrets it just plain wore out, so the 1971 neck was added, modified with a quite thick piece of ebony so he would never go through another fingerboard even with multiple fret jobs. Okay, the juicy bits: 1963 body routed for a mini-humbucker, now partially filled and a Seymour Duncan Tele neck pickup installed, 1963 pots (11th week of 1963), 1963 bridge pickup, 1963 bridge and neck plate, 1963 control plate with original knobs (we're not sure about the switchtip), all good. 1971 neck with thick ebony fingerboard and block inlays, neck pocket has been deepened to accommodate the thicker neck, so a standard neck won't fit without a spacer or shim. The neck also had Schaller tuners, so we filled the holes and installed repro Klusons and a new logo ('60s style) as well. 1960s-style repro pickguard is "mint-green" (standard with custom colors in the 1963 era). So, radius flattened, not curved, black tolex 1971 hard case with lots of cool stickers and the old removed mini-humbucker, Schallers, and string sets in the case pocket. Once belonged to a very busy session musician, now restored in Fiesta Red. The ebony-and-blocks fingerboard really grows on you, and the tone is fantastic. But wait, there's more - it's light, only 6.75 pounds. Way cool.
