1963 Fender Telecaster Sunburst

1963 Fender Telecaster electric guitar, made in USA, ser. no. Lxxxx7; Body: sunburst refinish with relic edging, body rout repairs to neck pickup cavity down to the bridge pickup cavity; Neck: maple, refinished with new decal, old string tree hole with dowel repair; Fretboard: rosewood, repairs to previous wear; Frets: refret; Electrics: bridge pickup rewound by Bare Knuckle Pickups, neck pickup appears to be an early 70s replacement, potentiometers and switch original; Hardware: replaced scratchplate, replaced nut, replaced strap buttons, replaced control knobs; Case: contemporary Fender hard case; Weight: 3.64kg; Overall condition: fair

*Modified in the 1970s by John Birch. The body was cut out to house John's larger pickups and electronics. The guitar was later put back to original spec with the body routs being repaired and body refinished. The original pots and switch were reinstalled along with a later 70s neck pickup. The bridge pickup was later rewound by Bare Knuckle Pickups. The serial number dates to late '62 with the faint neck stamp and potentiometers dating to 1963
