Just surfaced for sale this wonderful, all original, 1969 Fender Telecaster in the classic and cool Blonde finish over ash. This guitar retains every part and finish in its original form! Including the ashtray bridge cover and the logo hardshell case!
The guitars neck stamp, while complete, is a wonderful green and barely leaves the top of the year code on the end of the neck. The infamous "9" as the second to the last digit is just barely visible indicating its 1969 manufacture, this also matches its neck plate serial number. However, inside the guitar boasts two amazing, original pickups dating to "JUNE 66", two original pots also date to the 36th week "SEPTEMBER 66". On our meter the pickups register at 5.6 ohms for the neck and an equally strong 6.54ohms at the bridge with more than enough punch for any true Telecaster lover!
The scale puts the weight of the guitar just at 7.8lbs, the sustain is truly noticeable and long.
My personal favorite feature of this era of Telecaster is the white on pearl pickguard, its a wonderful factory surprise found on these and while this one has some shrinkage, it is in wonderful shape!
Although fully transitioned to the CBS specifications this guitars lovely blonde finish is mostly intact! There are certainly signs of wear on the finish and some wear on the lower body edge where the wood just barely peeks out. Its original hardware has no surface rust and just the slightest of scratches from well worn play.
This guitar is simple and begging to be played! We have just had a professional re-fret performed on the guitar with period correct wire, so the neck has another 60 years of enjoyment ready to go for the new owner!
