Description

For your consideration is this super-clean, all original vintage Telecaster. This guitar is serial number 297232 and was built in 1970. Having reached the half-century age mark, these early 70's Telecaster are becoming increasingly desirable. Examples in the fine condition of this guitar are few and far between.

As shown in the included photos, this guitar appears to be entirely original. It has an ash body and a one-piece maple neck and fingerboard. The neck date is not readable, but the features of this guitar are indicative of a 1969 or 1970 vintage. The neck is relatively chunky in feel, particularly down near the nut, measuring .874" at the first fret and .938" at the twelfth. It quite light for this era and weighs just 7.2 pounds. The pickups, electronics and solder joints are original and unmolested. The pots date to that huge batch that Fender purchased in 1966. The frets and hardware are original as well.

This guitar looks, feels and plays great. It has a nice low, buzz-free setup and is nicely balanced when strapped on. The original frets, while well-played, still have lots of life left in them. The pickups on this guitar are clear and strong, as evidenced by the sound sample below.

This guitar has been played, but has been extremely well-maintained. The original finish remains vibrant and the cosmetic flaws are quite limited (see detailed photos). It comes in it's original G&G black tolex case with the Fender amp logo. The original "ashtray" bridge cover is included as well.

You will not see many 50+ year old Telecasters in the condition of this beauty. It is a nice weight, has a nicely shaped neck, plays great and sounds even better. A superb example of a very well-preserved late 60's / early 70's Fender Telecaster. Make this sweet vintage piece yours today!
