Description

1972 Fender Telecaster Bass body that has been routed and refinished. This ash bodies finish was originally blonde, which is visible in the control cavities, but I cannot tell if the refin was done over the original finish or if it was stripped first. The refin was done when the original owner purchased the guitar, because he wanted a red bass. He also wanted the pickup in the position closer to the bridge, as the 1968 & 1969 Telecaster Bass’s were built, so the body was routed for that pickup location after the refinish was done. Filling in which ever route you don’t want with a block of ash would be an ideal solution, but the bass was used for 38 years professionally without that, so it is not needed. The finish is well done and is in good shape, but it has some slight “orange peel” figuring to the finish. This is underneath the clear coat, and the finish is smooth. The body has to be at the correct angle to see this, and from a couple feet away, it’s not noticeable, but it is there. The bass was taken great care of and treated well, so the body is in great shape. For another $75, I can include the original neck plate & screws, and also the screws and plate that adjust the neck angle. Solid swamp ash body weighs 6.2 lbs. Will be well packed for shipping.
