Summary: The 70s Telecaster Custom offers the best of both worlds, a Seth Lover designed Wide Range Humbucker in the neck and that classic tele tone from the bridge pickup! The body is a beautiful piece of lightweight ash and the maple neck feels very comfortable. This guitar is in great shape, there is barely any wear on the frets, and has got to be one of the best playing ‘70s Fenders we’ve had here at the shop. Our in-house luthier has just set this Tele up with nice low action and strung it up with a new set of 10s. It is ready to go and be played and loved for many years to come!
Body: A solid piece of ash with a natural finish and 3 ply b/w/b pickguard.
Neck: The 3 bolt maple neck has a bone nut, neck tilt screw, 21 frets, 25.5” scale length, bullet truss rod and 1.615” nut width.
Pickups/Hardware: It has the original pickups, wide range humbucker in the neck, classic tele bridge pickup, 6 individual saddles, string through body bridge, black witch hat knobs, 2 volumes, 2 tones, 3 way toggle and original F stamped tuning keys.
Cosmetics: This Tele is in excellent vintage condition but it does show some typical signs of wear. There are some pick scratches on the pickguard, some wear through the plating on the saddles, some wear through the edges of the fretboard and there are some minor dents and dings around the edges of the body. The thing most worthy of mention are the deep finish cracks on the body, a common thing for older guitars and this is the way polyurethane looks when the finish “checks”.
Playability: Our in house luthier has just inspected, set up and restrung this guitar with a new set of 10s and it is playing beautifully with low action and a straight neck. The frets are in great shape with no major grooves or divots.
