Harkening back to the exciting period when the Telecaster was a new-fangled instrument with surging popularity, the awesome Custom Shop Fender 1953 Telecaster Relic combines the sound and style of the past with modern features and playability. It's decorated in an Aged 2-Tone Sunburst relic'd finish, giving it the appearance of years on the road.
The lightweight two-piece ash solidbody wears a carefully-aged lacquer finish with heavy checking, showing off a road-dog look and style while retaining the grace and structure of a well-loved instrument. The flame AA maple neck has a thick '52-style U-profile for ultimate comfort and playability, with a matching fingerboard and twenty-one narrow tall frets adorned with micarta black facedots.
A pair of hand-wound Tele Texas Special pickups put the classic yeehaw Tele tone at the forefront — accompanied by the Fat '50s Tele wiring, a volume and tone control set and a three-way blade switch. The '50s-style Tele ashtray bridge keeps your tone crisp and stable, while the gold anodized pickguard gives a striking vintage aesthetic.
