Description

Offered for sale; 1971 Fender Twin Reverb chassis serial number A29702. This Twin is in very good to excellent condition.

Cosmetically this is a nicely preserved example, presenting quite well.

Fender Twin's have a long evolutionary path. The circuitry changes throughout the years certainly add to the variety of tones produced by these much sought after amps. This twin, serial number A29702 falls in the '71 date range, which indicates circuit AB568 or AC568, however this amp has an AB763 tube chart. Part of the confusion stems from the lack of any AB568 or AC568 tube charts. Fender never printed any since there were plenty of leftover AB763 tube charts available and these were used well into 1969 and beyond.

This Twin has original 1970 Oxford speakers, codes 465 048 on both. Source and date codes on the transformers as follows; Power- 606 016 (1970), Choke- 606 037 (1970), Reverb Driver- 606 939 (1969) and Output- 606 017 (1970). A 2 button earlier blackface style footswitch, casters and original slip cover are included.

This is a sweet silverface in really nice shape, looks great, sounds great. Why buy a reissue when you can own an original Twin Reverb!

*Please note: we do our best giving descriptions of used pieces. We have found it impossible to describe every mark on an instrument or amp that is not in the "mint" category. Also, what's important to you may not be important to someone else. For example, you may say, "I don't care what it looks like as long as it plays or sounds well." Another person may say, "Body cosmetics are very important to me so tell me about every scratch, nick and blemish." So, please ask the questions that are most important to you. If you ask they will be answered. They are free and there's no limit. Additional photos can also be made available.
This is a specific item that is also being offered for sale in our brick & mortar location. It is possible that it has just been sold. Please ask if it is still available before purchasing.
*It is our policy to require a signature on delivery of all musical instruments. Please let us know if you prefer no signature required when ordering or we will automatically require a signature.
