Description

For sale we have a beautiful 1968 Drip Edge Vibrolux Reverb AA864. This amp sounds absolutely incredible and is DEAD SILENT when not being played. No weird buzzes, no hum, NO issues.

This amp takes a GZ34 Rectifier tube and most of the components date to 1967 (transformers are all 68). So I believe this amp has blackface circuitry, but double check for yourself.

Speakers are original Oxford 10L5-3's and sound great

The amp has been freshly serviced:

  1. Recapped with F&T caps
  2. Fresh optocoupler
  3. Brand new TAD Rectifier tube and brand new matched JJ 6l6's (freshly biased as well)
  4. Hand selected preamp tubes with plenty of life left (not brand new, but all tested well and sound great in this amp)
  5. 3 prong plug with removed death cap and removed ground switch (ground switch will be included if you want to put it back in the hole, we had the hole plugged)

Includes the footswitch which is cosmetically quite beat up but works fine.

The vibrato and reverb are fully functioning without any issues.

Cosmetically: the grillcloth is discolored/dirty. The faceplate has unevenness in color. It's kind of hard to explain so just look at the pictures. They're kind of like dings/crud buildup but I think it's just spots where the chrome has worn away a bit.
The knobs also have rust in their centers.
Tolex is in nice shape overall, no major tears or large dings/dents anywhere.

Grab one of the nicest playing vintage Fender amps I've ever experienced and have it last you another 25 years trouble free
