We're thrilled to have our first Hungarian-made Fibenare in the shop! This 2015 Basic Jazz model is just stunning both visually, feel-wise, and tone-wise. Been looking for a resonant, slinky feeling humbucker guitar that nails the "humbucker should really sound like a fat single coil" vibe? Read on...

Fans of boutique guitars will likely already know the name Fibenare. This small, family run operation came about out of sheer necessity - getting quality electric guitars, especially 3 (one for each brother), was next to impossible in Hungary back in the 80s and 90s. At the urging of their musical father, the brothers began making their own instruments and the rest is history, as they say.

This like-new Basic Jazz model is the company's take on the classic Les Paul formula - short scale, mahogany body, maple top, and humbuckers. In this case, there are a few spins that take the build into a much more refined, high-end place: ebony fingerboard, an insanely cool looking burled maple top, wood bobbin/exposed coil Fibenare made ALV-63 humbuckers, wooden pickup surrounds and truss rod cover, a Fibenare-made wraptail bridge, rosewood neck, and a brass nut.

The chambered body makes this guitar extremely lightweight (7lbs 1oz), resonant, and lively in-hand (it balances perfectly too). The build quality is immaculate - the attention to detail is obvious from the moment you pick it up. It has a decidedly made-by-hand vibe in the best way possible (you can simply tell this isn't a mass-produced instrument).

Lots of love and care went into this build and you can feel it - it's very resonant/musical, sustains for days, and the satin-finished rosewood neck feels amazing. The neck carve is extremely comfortable (slightly smaller than a '59 LP carve) and the overall feel is really slinky. Played acoustically it's quite loud and snappy.

Plugged in? Wow. Gorgeous clean tones. Snappy, lively, beautiful top end clarity. Overdriven all of these traits remain along with some added power and punch. Don't be fooled into thinking this is "just another" LP style guitar as it's capable of much more and feels way more refined than a LP (and we love LPs to be sure).

Simply put, this is the perfect humbucker guitar for Tele players. Similar kind of snap, twang, and bite, just rolled into a short-scale Gibson inspired guitar. Very cool to be sure!

Priced with Fibenare hardshell case and certificate.
