Summary: The Imperial Custom is a single cut electric guitar that combines the classic thick rich tone of guitars from the 50’s updated with modern aesthetic, playability, and construction techniques. Using only premium hand-selected tone-woods, these guitars provide a rich and resonant tone that is somewhat traditional but with added clarity thanks to the untraditional 3-piece neck and Dovetail neck joint. Handcrafted in Brooklyn, NY, the Imperial line of guitars offers players the opportunity to choose their own wood combinations. This particular instrument is an Imperial Custom with a walnut body & a Private Reserve walnut top.
Body: Solid body single cutaway electric guitar with a walnut body & a “Private Reserve” walnut top.
Neck: Mahogany neck with an Indian Rosewood fingerboard, abalone block inlays, black locking Sperzel tuning keys, 22 jumbo frets, 24.75” scale length, Graphtech TUSQ XL nut with a nut width of 1 11/16”.
Pickups/Hardware: 2 Custom Matched Seymour Duncan pickups, 2 volume knobs & 2 tone knobs. Chrome pickup covers, black tuning machines, black TonePro ABR Locking w/ Nylon Saddles, 3-way switch. This instrument also features a Heel-less Dovetail neck joint, reversible and removable truss rod and a brass inset tailpiece.
Cosmetics: From a distance & in our photos this instrument looks really great, however, when you get it up close & hold it in the lights you can notice some pick scratching below the pickups & some light scratching around the volume & tone knobs. I also found some noticeable scratches on the back but all the wear on this instrument is hidden by the exquisite beauty that this guitar entails.
Playability: This guitar has been set up by our in-house luthier with 10’s and it plays and sounds fantastic. The action is low and the guitar plays without any dead spots or buzzing. The frets are in great shape and have a ton of life left.
Weight: 8 lbs, 3 oz.
Case: Original hard shell Fodera case with Certificate of Authenticity & a leather strap with the locking strap buttons attached.
