Description

Presenting the new Free The Tone DVL-1H Volume Pedal with Full-Rotation Belt-Drive System. As well as great sound quality and durability, a smooth and musical volume change is required in an ideal volume pedal. The Full-Rotation Belt-Drive system in the Free The Tone “DVL-1 series/ Direct Volume" has been newly developed by identifying problems in conventional volume pedals in order to embody this ideal volume pedal. Unlike the usual mechanisms in most volume pedals that use a string to rotate a variable resistor, the Free The Tone’s unique Full-Rotation Belt-Drive system adopts a gear and belt mechanism to drive the variable resistor linearly and link the pedal operation directly to volume change. Volume is controlled smoothly and musically with smooth rotation and an optimized volume curve. The belt used in this mechanism is reinforced with wires to provide excellent durability and to prevent elongation or breakage from heavy use or aging. General passive type volume pedals have a problem in which pressing the pedal to its full toe-down position does not turn the variable resistor all the way to the clockwise end because there is an unusable rotation range and therefore the signal level may decrease when connecting that volume pedal even after matching impedances of your devices. The Full-Rotation Belt-Drive system in the DVL-1 series has been carefully designed so that the variable resistor fully rotates from its minimum to maximum positions so that problem does not occur. The DVL-1H is the high impedance version. Use this model by connecting it after a high impedance device often found in guitars/basses with passive type pickups, fuzz pedals, or vintage effects units, etc. The Free The Tone DVL-1 series Direct Volume uses carefully selected high-quality parts in the signal path to provide musical sound with minimal tonal impact. The robust enclosure will withstand long-term use and prevent problems such as deformation. After more than two years of development, Free the Tone have created what they feel is the ideal volume pedal with no compromises. Free The Tone’s unique Full-Rotation Belt-Drive system (The variable resistor is driven by a combination of belt and gear, unlike a conventional mechanism that uses a string.)The DVL-1 series Direct Volume eliminates the variable resistor’s unusable range found in conventional volume pedals. By fully utilizing the variable resistor range, it can prevent a decrease in volume when connected. The belt and gear drives the variable resistor linearly and links pedal operation directly to volume change. The belt used in the system is reinforced with metal wires and prevents loosening or breakage due to aging.Carefully selected parts are adopted to provide musical sound with minimal tonal impact. The pedal section of the enclosure is made of 5-mm thick aluminum plate and the body section is an aluminum and steel compound chassis. This robust enclosure can withstand long-term use and prevent mechanical problems such as deformation, etc.Variable resistor: DVL-1H : 500kΩTerminals: 3 x standard 1/4" phone jacks (input, output, tuner out)Dimensions: 90 (W) x 246 (D) x 60 (H) mm (excl. rubber foot height)Weight: 1.15 kgAccessories: Rubber feet, Warranty card, Owner manual
