Description

Our in-house luthier Ben Frye scratch-built this wonderful tribute to the original 50s slab-body Epiphone Coronet. 50 were produced and this is the last one available.

These are guitars built to play. They've found their way into the hands of countless professional and gigging musicians. If you want an endorsement of Ben's fine work just check our feedback. He goes through every vintage guitar we sell and gets them ready for the rigors of the road.

If you're not familiar with the original Epiphone Coronet it's one of the coolest and rarest electrics in the Epiphone/Gibson lineup. We had an original in our shop and we were so enamored with it we thought there should be a few more in the world.

They feature a light-weight solid sitka-spruce body that resonates like an acoustic soundboard top would. The neck is made of mahogany with a rosewood board. He custom wound the pickup to PAF specs (unbalanced coil and not wax potted) for maximum personality. The neck has a chunky late 50s feel. The lightweight aluminum stoptail is one of the best designs out there and keeps people coming back to "Juniors" time and time again.

We really could gush about these all day long but we'll let the guitar do the talking for us. Please contact the shop if you have any other questions.

Comes with a gig-bag.

While this guitar is "new" it has some finish imperfections such as air bubbles in the clear coat and some unevenness in the amber/yellow tint. Because of these flaws it was our shop demo guitar and is the last available of the batch of 50 guitars Ben made.
