SALE PENDING. Mandolin fans will easily recognize this as the model played by the legendary Jethro Burns. With its modernistic double cutaway, it enabled Jethro and those who followed him, easier access to the upper fretboard.
In keeping with the Gibson style of its post 1950 instruments, the spruce top and curly maple back and sides are finished in the popular Gibson cherry sunburst finish, with cream-colored binding top and back, and on the extended fretboard as well. The peg head is in the Florentine style with the pearl crown inlay and Gibson logo. The neck has a sleek rounded profile and is imminently playable.
This is an extremely clean example of this desirable 50-year old modern-era mandolin, and one of the best sounding ones we have ever run across.
