2005 Gibson Advanced Jumbo Historic Collection Vintage Burst

Very good condition featuring slope shouldered body, solid Sitka spruce top with Vintage Sunburst finish, solid Indian rosewood back and sides, single bound top and body edges, decorative three line soundhole rosette, single ply firestripe pickguard, rectangular rosewood bridge, compensated bone saddle, six white plastic bridge pins, mahogany neck, bound rosewood fingerboard with diamond and arrow inlays starting at the third fret, bone nut, 1930s style Gibson peghead shape with pearl Gibson script logo and decorative diamond and arrow inlay, single ply black plastic bell shaped truss rod cover, three per side individual Gotoh open gear tuning machines, serial number and Made In USA impressed into the back of the peghead, one metal strap button and one metal output jack/strap button, Fishman undersaddle pickup with volume control located inside the soundhole, chrome plated metal hardware, nitrocellulose finish and original Gibson hard shell case.

This 2005 Gibson Advanced Jumbo Historic Collection series flattop guitar is in very good cosmetic condition showing showing signs of play wear throughout. There are some pick scratches on the top, a few small dings on the body and around the peghead and a worn spot on the back of the neck from a sliding capo (see photo - the capo wear cannot be felt while playing the guitar but it is visible). This guitar has been played quite a bit and it shows, but everything is in good working order and the guitar is crack free. The neck profile on this AJ is that of a slim carve with a 1 11/16” nut width and it is exceptionally comfortable and easy to play. This instrument has been set up and has incredibly low action and great intonation. This guitar plays effortlessly up and down the fingerboard and has no “dead” spots - it just rings out loud and clear from the first fret to the last. This Advanced Jumbo sounds absolutely fantastic. It has a crisp articulate top end that excels for single note picking and will most certainly cut. It also has that nice dry bottom end that good Gibson flattops are famous for. This instrument will sit just right in a mix and is a sensational rhythm guitar. This AJ has plenty of volume because of the dreadnought body shape but isn’t overly boomy. There is a Fishman undersaddle pickup installed that sounds terrific and really makes this Gibson perfect for live performance as well. This guitar is housed in its original Gibson hard shell case for safe travels. If you are after a tremendous sounding and playing flattop, then I highly recommend this Bozeman, Montana, built Advanced Jumbo.
