Summary: In 1961 Gibson released the B series of acoustics. This B-15 features a spruce and mahogany configuration in a nice compact package that is as easy on the ears as it is to play. A sort of “bare bones” acoustic that gets right to the point and plays similarly to an electric. We really enjoy these little flat tops and they are a true bang for the buck. This vintage Gibson is in great shape and will ship in a vintage chipboard case.

Body: This vintage Gibson has a spruce top with mahogany back and sides and a black pickguard. This B-15 has a very thin finish, simple one ply black rosette and no binding.

Neck: The neck is mahogany with a small headstock, rosewood fingerboard, 24 ½” scale length, 20 frets, pearloid dot inlays and 1.565” nut width.

Pickups/Hardware: It has a mahogany bridge with rosewood saddle, height adjustment screws, 3 on a plate tuners with white buttons and one strap button at the butt of the guitar.

Cosmetics: This little guy has some nicks and scratches on the top but it’s in overall great shape. The neck is almost entirely blemish free with the exception of a very light scratch running from the 7th to 9th fret. The frets themselves are in wonderful shape with very little wear and tons of life left in them. There are various scratches, pick scrapes and dings around the body and edges, most notably one ding in the bottom edge and a scratch running the length of the lower bout of the guitar where your arm rests. There is a crack in the center seam behind the bridge which has been repaired from the inside with a cleat. It is structurally sound although you can feel the crack when you run your fingers over it.

Playability: This little Gibson plays great. We put a new set of 12’s on it & made sure the neck is straight & the truss rod is working. If you love a thin neck then you will totally love playing this vintage Gibson.

Weight: 4 lbs 1 oz.

Case: This instrument comes with a vintage chipboard case & we will ship it fully packed, padded and insured!
