Offered for sale;

Gibson BR-9 Electric Hawaiian Guitar and Amplifier c1951. This combo lap steel and amp are in very good condition. Cosmetically the guitar is in nice shape, the amp is showing some “scuffs and marks” and is missing the original handle.

Since we have some reprints of the original sales brochure information. We would like to share it.
Gibson states:

“The full scale 29 fret fingerboard of the Gibson BR-9 is particularly helpful for beginner students because of its numbering. Hardwood is used in the body of the BR-9 guitar, which is finished in Ivory with Cremona brown trim. Combination hand rest and unit cover is of plastic, and both volume and tone controls are on the same side for simplified “finger-tip” action. High quality individual pole pieces result in smooth balanced tone. The light colored well-constructed case matches the instrument and amplifier.

The BR-9 amplifier has a streamlined light-weight case covered in washable Ivory leatherette accented by a brown plastic trim. The four tube amplifier has an 8” speaker, two input jacks, on-off switch, heavy cord lead wire, and fuse box mounted on a slanted panel. Gibson quality and performance are combined in this popular priced outfit.”

This is a really cool historic duo, very payable and collectable.

This fairly mild mannered amp is a perfect mate to the steel, not that it would get jealous when you plug the steel into something more aggressive.

Original hard case for the guitar is included.

*Please note: we do our best giving descriptions of used pieces. We have found it impossible to describe every mark on an instrument or amp that is not in the "mint" category. Also, what's important to you may not be important to someone else. For example, you may say, "I don't care what it looks like as long as it plays or sounds well." Another person may say, "Body cosmetics are very important to me so tell me about every scratch, nick and blemish." So, please ask the questions that are most important to you. If you ask they will be answered. They are free and there's no limit. Additional photos can also be made available.

This is a specific item that is also being offered for sale in our brick & mortar location. It is possible that it has just been sold. Please ask if it is still available before purchasing.

*It is our policy to require a signature on delivery of all musical instruments. Please let us know if you prefer no signature required when ordering or we will automatically require a signature.

If you prefer your item to be sent without a required signature Imperial Guitar and the selected carrier can no longer be responsible for the security of the package once it has been delivered.
