Description

This 1992 Gibson Chet Atkins Country Gentleman serial number 93102428 is in excellent condition. Neck and frets are fine, cosmetically clean showing little playing time. After endorsing a Country Gentleman from another manufacturer for decades, Chet decided to give Gibson a go on the design.

Featuring a 17"wide x 1.75" thick body constructed of curly maple/poplar/maple laminate with a center block of balsa/mahogany, a three piece maple neck with a "Special Chet Atkins" slim taper profile. Ebony fingerboard with 25 ½" scale length, 1 ¾" nut width and thumbprint inlays. Gold hardware, tune-o-matic bridge, Bigsby vibrato, Schaller "crank winder fold-out" tuners, 492R and 490T Alnico humbuckers, two volume, master tone, master volume and three-way switch. Let us not forget the armrest, as they didn’t all have one. This guitar is kind of like an ES-350 modded for Chet with a 25 ½" scale, unusual for a Gibson.

This is a beautiful instrument, it plays smoothly, sounds great. These guitars are sought after by players of all types since the model was discontinued in 2000, the Gibson Chet Atkins Country Gentleman is a versatile and eye catching tribute to the man who lightheartedly called himself the "Certified Guitar Player."

Original hard shell case included.

* Please note: we do our best giving descriptions of used pieces. We have found it impossible to describe every mark on an instrument or amp that is not in the "mint" category. Also, what's important to you may not be important to someone else. For example, you may say, "I don't care what it looks like as long as it plays or sounds well." Another person may say, "Body cosmetics are very important to me so tell me about every scratch, nick and blemish." So, please ask the questions that are most important to you. If you ask they will be answered. They are free and there's no limit. Additional photos can also be made available.

This is a specific item that is also being offered for sale in our brick & mortar location. It is possible that it has just been sold. Please ask if it is still available before purchasing.

*It is our policy to require a signature on delivery of all musical instruments. Please let us know if you prefer no signature required when ordering or we will automatically require a signature.
