Up for sale, this great sounding 1956 Gibson CF100E. Original factory P-90 pickup at the end of the fingerboard provides a beautiful rounded tone, but its natural acoustic tone is just as sweet. We don’t see this model from the 50s very often and we really love this guitar. Plays great and that Florentine cutaway is just too cool for school
In good vintage condition with considerable playing wear (see photos). There are two unrepaired top cracks at the control knobs which probably resulted from a case shock at some point in its life. The cracks seem stable and don’t affect the tone of the guitar, so we’ve chosen to leave them as is. We’ve discounted the guitar to give you room to have these cracks repaired in the future if you so desire.
Original tobacco burst finish has aged nicely over six decades. Original saddle. Replaced tuners (later period Kluson Deluxe tuners). Both Volume pots and one knob were replaced. Stamped “Made in the USA” which indicates this was probably made for export as the US market models typically weren’t stamped. FON is V37138. Comes with a non-original hardshell case.
