Description

Until 5 minutes ago these were thought to have been first issued in 1982. Well, UPDATE; this one's from December '81. Serial # stamped on the ridge inside the control cavity ( a-la the Guitar Trader '59 Les Paul Reissues from '82 / '83 ), and NOT on the back of the headstock, no "Made in USA" stamp either. Could be a prototype, at any rate one of the first few made and in fine condition except for some strangeness on the treble side of the bridge - see pics - not sure what's up there, maybe had a personalized, custom inlay installed with a spoon. Unceremoniously filled, would be an easy and cheap fix with similar rosewood to look much better in no time, speaking of which, as for that "5 minutes" quip; Einstein said "There are no privileged frames of reference" or something to that effect. The way I see it, that might apply to time as well as space, so your 5 minute window might be very different than someone else's, or even everyone else's, and just want you to know we are aware of that and stand by that statement comfortably.
