The Collector's Choice #35 1959 Les Paul Vic DaPra "Gruhn Burst" is precisely modeled after an original '59 Les Paul, serial number 9 0627, owned by author and avid 'Burst collector Vic DaPra. Back in '84, DaPra sought to acquire this original '59 Les Paul, but he didn't have the luxury of the internet. According to DaPra, "[he] had to wait for Polaroid pictures to come through the mail. It felt like forever." It has become more and more rare that you find an original late '50s Les Paul with such a clean lineage and only two owners in its lifetime, and #9 0627 is one of those highly coveted original "closet" finds. From headstock to strap button, this very limited Collector's Choice #35 replicates the original #9 0627 with outstanding accuracy thanks to in-depth study of the original, Gibson Custom's True Historic specs, and DaPra's personal involvement in development and approval.
