Starting in 2013, Gibson made significant changes in the production of their high-end LP reissues, returning to building methods which make the 2013 and later guitars far more accurate representations of the original late 50's guitars. These improvements included: the use of hot hide glue to mount a longer tenon neck joint; the use of much more accurate aniline dyes and materials; lighter but non-weight-relieved bodies; introduction of the new 'Custom Bucker' pickups; no surround on the truss rod and more.
In addition to all these construction improvements, this 2013 guitar was lightly aged at the factory to give it the vibe of a well-treated and played vintage instrument. It has a nice chunky neck with moderate shoulders and depth measurements of .90" at the first fret increasing to 1.01" at the twelfth fret. Better still, this guitar weighs just 8.25 pounds (8 pounds, 4 ounces)!
I love the vintage vibe of this guitar. It is light, resonant, well-balanced when hung and a joy to play. The Custombucker pickups are recognized as being among the best Gibson has wound since the original 'Patent Applied For' originals. Please check out the brief sound sample provided below. The factory aging aside, this guitar does not appear to have been played much and the frets look marvelous (see pics). It comes in its original (also factory aged) brown LifIon-style case, along with the certificate of authenticity and tags, everything you would get with a new one.
Dealers were asking nearly $8K for these when new even back in 2013 and prices have continued north since then. Get this nicely preserved and light weight 2013 Aged LPR9 for $2K less. A killer LP that is sure to please!

Shipping to Continental US addresses is via FedEx Ground, with flat rate shipping of $60 to Eastern time zones, $70 Central and $80 Mountain/Pacific. Shipping to Alaska and Hawaii is $100. Refunds of the original purchase price less shipping and a 10% restocking fee may be requested within 48 hours of delivery. Exchanges within one (1) week of the original date of purchase may be made for an item of equal or greater value at the discretion of Capital Guitars. Where permitted herein, items must be promptly returned at the buyer's expense, in the same condition as received with all accessories and paperwork included.
