This guitar was part of Gibson's 'Made to Measure' series; a program which allowed dealers and customers to pick their specs from an ala carte list of key elements, including but not limited to, the body, the figuring of the top, the neck shape, the fretboard material and the electronics. This guitar was ordered to have a particularly light Mahogany body and it weighs just 8.3 pounds (8 pounds, 6 oz.). It was also spec'd with a fabulous flame top, a terrific Tea burst nitro lacquer finish and one of the best aging jobs you will find on a Gibson. It even comes with one of Gibson's pricey aged Lifton-style reissue cases. It was also ordered with a medium C-shaped neck with depth measurements of .860" at the first fret and .965" at the twelfth. This neck is certainly not small, but it is a bit smaller than you would typically find on an R9 and more like what you would find on a '60 Reissue.
The original owner of this guitar invested $800 and had a set of ThroBak pickups (arguably the best humbuckers available) and a ThroBak wiring harness professionally installed. While the original Custombucker pickups and the factory wiring kit are included with the guitar, I don't think you will want to change anything when you hear this guitar in action.
My clean little sample diddly doesn't do the tone of this instrument justice and only begins to tell you what this guitar is capable of. The light weight, great balance, slightly smaller neck shape and fabulous electronics make this one kick-ass LP and it is a joy to play with a terrific setup. The great flame top and aging are just icing on the cake.
It comes in it's original aged case, with the COA and tags and all the original Gibson parts. It is in near mint, aged condition and the frets show zero wear. What more could an LP-lover ask for? Click the 'Buy Now' button and make it yours!

Shipping to Continental US addresses is via FedEx Ground, with flat rate shipping of $60 to Eastern time zones, $70 Central and $80 Mountain/Pacific. Shipping to Alaska and Hawaii is $100. Refunds of the original purchase price less shipping and a 10% restocking fee may be requested within 48 hours of delivery. Exchanges within one (1) week of the original date of purchase may be made for an item of equal or greater value at the discretion of Capital Guitars. Where permitted herein, items must be promptly returned at the buyer's expense, in the same condition as received with all accessories and paperwork included. Sale items, purchases that are made via layaway, those involving trades and/or international shipping are considered final except upon an error by and at the discretion of Capital Guitars.
