2014 Gibson Custom Chambered '54 Les Paul Reissue Lemonburst 7.2 lbs.
Offered here is a relatively unique Custom Shop Les Paul for your consideration, a Chambered '54 Les Paul with a gloss Lemonburst top instead of the much more typical Goldtop finish. This guitar was part of a limited run of guitars Gibson built in 2014.
Weight is critical to an old fart like me, along with many of my customers. As such, I love these chambered reissues and I love the additional woodiness that the chambering adds to an LP's voice. With its chambered Mahogany body topped with lightly flamed Maple this one has a total weight of just 7 pounds, 3 ounces (7.2 pounds). The Mahogany neck on this guitar feels terrific with depth measurements of .907" at the first fret, tapering up to .975" at the twelfth fret. The P-90 pickups give this LP a bit of additional "attitude" when gain is added, but at lower volumes the voice of this sweetie cleans up nicely. Please check out the brief sound sample included. There is something about the resonance and tone of a wrap-around bridge Les Paul that make this '54 a killer choice. And, as a 2014 model Custom Shop LP, it comes with the significant improvements that Gibson instituted in 2013 and thereafter: the use of hot hide glue to fit the long tenon neck joint; more accurate aniline dyes and binding material; lighter but non-weight-relieved bodies; the new and better sounding 'Custom Bucker' pickups; no surround on the truss rod, and so on.
This guitar is in excellent plus condition with just a few signs of use, as pictured: a few marks on the headstock from string changes and marks near and on the rear plastic cavity cover. These minor issues aside, this guitar is in near mint condition and the frets show no observable wear. It comes in it's original Lifton-style reissue case, also in great condition, along with the certificate of authenticity and hang tags.

Shipping to Continental US addresses is via FedEx Ground, with flat rate shipping of $60 to Eastern time zones, $70 Central and $80 Mountain/Pacific. Shipping to Alaska and Hawaii is $100. Refunds of the original purchase price less shipping and a 10% restocking fee may be requested within 48 hours of delivery. Exchanges within one (1) week of the original date of purchase may be made for an item of equal or greater value at the discretion of Capital Guitars. Where permitted herein, items must be promptly returned at the buyer's expense, in the same condition as received with all accessories and paperwork included. Sale items, purchases that are made via layaway, those involving trades and/or international shipping are considered final except upon an error by and at the discretion of Capital Guitars.
