2009 Gibson Custom Les Paul Special Double Cut TV Yellow Gloss, Very Good, Original Hard, $2,199.00
If a vintage-style, take no prisoners, rock and roll machine is what you've been looking for, then please check out this guitar. Offered is this Gibson Custom 1960 Les Paul Special Double Cut built in 2009. This is a guitar that we had listed previously, but it turned out to have a couple of condition issues that we missed the first time around as described below.
This recreation of Gibson's late 50's LP Special DC has a solid Mahogany body and a one-piece Mahogany neck which is attached to the body via a long neck tenon for maximum resonance and tone. It has a 24-3/4" scale length neck which has a 60's C shape which on this instrument is .84" deep at the 1st fret and .92" deep at the 12th fret. The Indian Rosewood fretboard has a 12" radius, medium/jumbo frets, MOP dot inlays and a 1.6875" nut. It has a 50's replica wrap-around tailpiece and vintage style ivoroid button tuners. The electronics include Gibson Custom P-90's, CTS pots and bumble bee caps along with a traditional Les Paul control setup (2V, 2T, 3-way). This example is finished in a more expensive to built TV Yellow gloss finish, rather than the more common VOS finish. This beautiful instrument weighs just 6.8 pounds!
This guitar is a joy to play and to hear. The setup is nice and low and buzz free. The neck is a nice medium C which should appeal to most players and the guitar's light weight make it an instrument you can play all night. The Gibson P-90's have a tone that is bred for Rock & Roll. This guitar is in very good condition. You will find pick scuffs on the black, five-ply, beveled pickguard and some very shallow vertical impressions on the low E side of the back of the neck between the 4th and the 12th frets (see photo). I missed them initially, so they aren't particularly bothersome from a playing perspective, but please be aware that they are there. Also, non-stock Lollar P-90 pickups were previously installed which were causing setup issues because of the height of the bridge pickup, but the originals have now been re-installed. The guitar is otherwise in superb condition, frets included. It comes in it's original Gibson Custom case, along with the certificate of authenticity.

Shipping to Continental US addresses is via FedEx Ground, with flat rate shipping of $60 to Eastern time zones, $70 Central and $80 Mountain/Pacific. Shipping to Alaska and Hawaii is $100. Refunds of the original purchase price less shipping and a 10% restocking fee may be requested within 48 hours of delivery. Exchanges within one (1) week of the original date of purchase may be made for an item of equal or greater value at the discretion of Capital Guitars. Where permitted herein, items must be promptly returned at the buyer's expense, in the same condition as received with all accessories and paperwork included. Sale items, purchases that are made via layaway, those involving trades and/or international shipping are considered final except upon an error by and at the discretion of Capital Guitars.
