Description

The 2023 model of the "Historic Collection" is indispensable when talking about Les Paul reissues.

On January 15, 1986, Gibson was sold to Henry Jaskowitz and his partners, and a new program called the "Historic Collection" was launched. Tom Murphy, who was working at Gibson at the time, and other development staff members introduced the ultimate 1959 Les Paul reissue in January 1993, and it has reigned as the flagship model of the Custom Shop to this day.

The newest model of the "Historic Collection" for 2023 is now in stock. The head has been refinished to match the original 1959 logo, with the Gibson and Les Paul logos, Bumble Bee replica condenser, pots, and dish inlays, all with a strong vintage flavor. The 59 medium C shape, which is not too thick with an emphasis on originality, and all-nickel gluing have also been inherited, and the quality of workmanship can be seen throughout.

The sound is influenced by the custom backer with Alnico III, which gives a good response with a solid attack, and the pianoforte that you want to express in this phrase can be played very comfortably. The sound is not blurred, as is often the case with lightweight Les Pauls, but responds powerfully to distortion.

This reissue model is a fusion of Gibson's long-cultivated technical skills and inherited traditions, and can truly be called the definitive model of the "new from the past". This reissue model is a model of the highest quality in terms of both sound and materials.
