Summary: From Gibson.com –
“Gibson Custom Shop's 1959 Les Paul Standard Reissue is not just a tribute to the priceless original models -- it's a clone of them. From laser-scanned dimensions to chemically-recreated plastics to color-matched shades of sunburst, every element has been rendered in unbelievable detail. It represents the culmination of decades of work by Custom Shop's expert team -- a tireless quest to bring accuracy and authenticity to the hands of fans. It’s the definition of cool, and it's the best representation of the 1959 Les Paul Standard since the Gibson Custom Shop began making Historic Reissues over twenty-five years ago.”
This Gibson has one of the most beautiful flame tops we have had in our shop here, it is jaw dropping gorgeous and sounds as good as it looks. It has just been professionally set up and restrung with a new set of 10s by our in house luthier- it plays like a Custom Should and feels outstanding. It ships in its original hardshell case.

Body: Solid mahogany body with the most gorgeous AAA flame maple top with Royalite cream binding and VOS ice tea burst nitrocellulose lacquer finish.

Neck: Authentic medium C shaped mahogany neck with bound rosewood fingerboard, trapezoidal inlays, beautifully crafted replacement bone nut, 12” radius, 1.69” nut width and 24.75” scale length.

Pickups/Hardware: Burstbucker 1 and 2 pickups, 3 way toggle, 2 volumes, 2 tones, nickel hardware, tune-o-matic bridge and tailpiece, Gibson Deluxe tuning keys with green keystones and strap lock style buttons.

Cosmetics: This guitar is in excellent used condition with just a few light scratches on the body only visible when inspected in the light. The finish in VOS so there is some slight tarnishing on the hardware and the finish isn’t bright and glossy like it just came off the buffing wheel but has more of a vintage mellow look.

Playability: Our in house guitar tech has just inspected, setup and restrung this guitar with a new set of 10s. The neck is straight, the truss rod is fully functioning and the action has been setup low and comfortable. The frets are in great shape with only the slightest wear around the first 6 frets under the B and G strings but it plays beautifully up and down the fingerboard with no dead spots or choking out.

Modifications: the original nylon nut was replaced with a beautifully hand crafted bone nut which looks great and was definitely done by an expert. The strap buttons look like larger strap lock style buttons and the bridge was replaced. The original nut and bridge are in the case.
