1985 Gibson Custom Shop Q4000 Black

This 1985 Gibson Q4000 is in excellent condition. This guitar shows light signs of play wear, use and age throughout, but is overall in very clean, all original condition. These early Custom Shop Q4000 models are quite rare and feature an HSS pickup configuration and an original Kahler bridge unit. This instrument has a great feeling medium chunky C shaped neck profile with a 1 11/16” nut width. This neck is easy and fun to play and has a more substantial feel than most “shred” style guitars from this time period. The original frets are in great shape and have plenty of life left. This Q4000 has received a professional set up and it plays outstanding up and down the fingerboard with low snappy action and great intonation. The electronics have been cleaned, are fully original and in proper working order. All three original pickups sound great. The bridge pickup has a very hot nasty tone that excels with overdrive tones while the single coil pickups are fat and clear sounding. This guitar is housed in its original Gibson branded black rectangular hard shell case that is also in great condition. These 1980s Q series models are interesting well made instruments that definitely have a vibe and look that reflect the time period in which they were made and this one is a very fine offering.
