A legendary model re-design for modern players, the amazing American-made Custom Shop Gibson 1963 SG Special Reissue Lightning Bar VOS electric guitar carries all of the innovations of the new age of Custom Shop guitars while maintaining the distinctive style of the original era. It's colored in a classic Cherry Red finish with a black pickguard, as well as a set of matching nickel hardware.
Lightweight, compact, and full of attitude, the SG Special is built from a solid mahogany body with a gloss nitrocellulose lacquer finish with vintage patina, as well as a smooth one-piece mahogany neck in an authentic '63 medium C-profile. A killer Indian rosewood fingerboard is mounted on top, boasting twenty-two medium jumbo frets and a set of pearloid dot inlays.
What's unique about this model is the modern lightning bar wraparound tailpiece, which is designed to keep your intonation perfect and keep the guitar exactly in tune for the scale of the neck. Equipped is a pair of Custom soapbar P-90 single-coil pickups that produce a wicked vintage PAF tone, shapeable by two volume and two tone controls, along with a three-way toggle switch.
