Offered here is a 2015 Gibson Custom Shop True Historic '59 Les Paul Reissue. These True Historics were built to be a close as possible to the originals. With their hand-wet-sanded, historically accurate finishes, this model is no longer being manufactured because of their high production costs. As such, these full-blown True Historic LP's are likely to be highly sought-after in the years to come.
This guitar was built at the end of 2015 to full True Historic specs and was originally sold by Wildwood Guitars of Colorado. It has a period-accurate C-shaped neck with moderate shoulders and depth measurements of .900" at the first fret and 1.020" at the twelfth fret. The pickups of course are Gibson's best Custom Buckers. This highly flamed, Vintage Cherryburst example is perfectly balanced and is incredibly light, weighing just slightly over 8 pounds (8 pounds, 1.4 ounces), making it one of the lightest, non-weight-relieved examples I have ever come across!
This guitar feels fabulous and sounds great as well. Wildwood seems to get the "cream of the crop" and this guitar is a perfect example. It plays superbly and looks and feels like the real deal. The tone is to die for, as you will hear in the brief SoundCloud sample provided.
This guitar has seen a bit of play, but remains in very good condition. While it looks great from a foot away as these photos will attest to, up very close you will find some swirling on the top and buckle rash on the back. The neck shows significant "binding bleed" from the cherry stain. I've done my best to provide photos of these flaws. These cosmetic issues notwithstanding, the frets remain in excellent condition.
This guitar comes with it's original Lifton-style reissue case with the certificate and all the original paperwork. These guitars sold for $8.5K when they were still available, but this ultra-light weight example of this now 'extinct' model can be yours for $2K less. If you want perhaps the very best LP reissue that Gibson has ever made, get this True Historic beauty while you can!

Shipping to Continental US addresses is via FedEx Ground, with flat rate shipping of $60 to Eastern time zones, $70 Central and $80 Mountain/Pacific. Shipping to Alaska and Hawaii is $100. Refunds of the original purchase price less shipping and a 10% restocking fee may be requested within 48 hours of delivery. Exchanges within one (1) week of the original date of purchase may be made for an item of equal or greater value at the discretion of Capital Guitars. Where permitted herein, items must be promptly returned at the buyer's expense, in the same condition as received with all accessories and paperwork included. Sale items, purchases that are made via layaway, those involving trades and/or international shipping are considered final except upon an error by and at the discretion of Capital Guitars.
