Description

Summary: This famous flame maple-backed dreadnought introduced in the early ‘60s is intertwined with one of the most revolutionary decades in popular music history. Its maple back and sides and long scale produce the crisp, clear tone and projection while the square shoulder body adds balance and warmth. The hand-crafted pick guard, with a single mother-of-pearl dove among painted flowers, make this guitar instantly recognizable. This particular Gibson Dove is from 2007 & it has been kept in a case & wasn’t played very much – this guitar looks really great! The model # for this guitar is SSDOACGH.

Body: Double bound square shouldered body with a natural finished spruce top & cherry red maple back & sides.

Neck: 3-piece maple neck with a fully bound rosewood fingerboard, Mother-of-pearl Parallelograms inlays, chrome Grover tuning machines, rosewood bridge, 20 frets. The frets are in great shape & show very little wear. The scale length is 25.5” and the nut width is 1 23/32”

Pickups/Hardware: Simple LR Baggs pickup with one volume control & the input jack is at the butt-end strap button pin.

Mods/Repairs: According to Gibson this model # this instrument was supposed to have gold hardware, however, Gibson tells us that this was a custom shop order & it is possible the chrome tuners are original.

Cosmetics: This guitar is in really great condition – I held this baby up to the lights & I can’t find any buckle rash, no scratching & no dings!

Playability: This Gibson Dove plays like a dream – the action is comfortable & the guitar plays with no buzzing or dead spots.

Weight: 5 lbs & 3 oz.

Case: Original hardshell case
