This 1970 Gibson EB-2D is in excellent condition. This bass shows nearly no signs of play wear throughout - this is the absolute nicest cleanest 100% original "no stories" EB-2B bass that we have ever seen. This instrument was purchased from the original owner's grandson and looks like it spent the majority of its 55 years in its original purple lined case which is also in incredible condition. There is one tiny ding on the treble side peghead corner and a very small ding on the back of the instrument. Otherwise, this bass is immaculate and would fit right into any vintage instrument collection.
This EB-2D has a medium chunky rounded neck profile that is exceptional feeling in the hand and very comfortable. The original fret wire is tall and shows only extremely light signs of play wear. The bass plays fantastic up and down the rosewood fingerboard with great action and great intonation. The electronics are all original, untouched and are in perfect operating order. Both original pickups sound ridiculously good and have a strong output.
