Description

It’s difficult to express how special this guitar is. This is not to be confused with the ES-125 (no cutaway, of which there were around 36,000 units sold), or the ES-125T (thinline version of the 125, of which there were tens of thousands sold), or even the ES-125TC (thinline cutaway, again in the thousands sold). No, the ES-125C was only made from mid 1965 to 1970. It is a full depth (3 3/8”) hollowbody with a single P-90 in the neck position, with a full Venetian cutaway. Aside from not having a bound fingerboard, you are essentially playing a ‘49 ES-175. Brazilian rosewood fingerboard and compensated bridge/saddle. Nut is 1 9/16”. Honduran mahogany neck; laminated maple back, sides, and top. There were a mere 475 TOTAL ES-175C’s produced - ever. Any ES-175C’s you might see advertised before 1965 are all actually ES-175TC’s, of which there were tons produced, and they are a different animal, being thinline bodies. The ES-125C is highly sought out by jazz guitarists who know them.
