Guitar Magazine once published an article: "What's the Most Underrated Guitar On the Vintage Market? It Could Be the Gibson ES-125TDC" (Rod Brakes, Sept 16,2021), and I absolutely conquer.

I'm just gonna say it - the thinline, 16" wide body is sensual. Look at it! It has the perfect width, depth, and that sweet Florentine cutaway - curves in all the right places.

Unlike its close cousin 125s, the TDC (which stands for Thinline, Dual Pickup, Cutaway) sports two P-90s and the corresponding Gibson two volume/two tone circuit, giving you that familiar flexibility.

This 1964 ES does have the 1 11/16" nut width that everyone loves. I personally dig that they kept the black P-90 pickup covers on this model.

This beautiful ES-125 came in from the second owner, along with a picture of him playing it at a gig here in the California hills back in the early 70s. The remarkable thing about the guitar is that he played it and enjoyed it, but he kept it in spectacularly clean condition.

The guitar plays very well. It is light as a feather, and it is as at home on the couch/unplugged as it is plugged in, playing anything from jazz to rock.

The only two changes to the guitar are the tuning machines, which were changed years ago to patent pending, nickel Grovers that go for over $300 a set. Otherwise, there are no repairs, cracks or any issues with the instrument whatsoever. The case is an era-correct, alligator covered hardshell. The previous owner had a piece of hardwood mated to the top (very professional looking) to fit under the string retainer portion of the trapeze tailpiece to reduce vibration. I'm leaving it with the guitar - just seems like it should stay.Note: The block was glued in and would have to be removed by a lutherie should you want to reverse the procedure.
