Description

Summary: This Gibson is in great vintage condition, has plenty of finish checking all over the neck and honey burst body, and is equipped with the original patent # sticker humbuckers. The wear on the back of the neck shows this guitar was a real players instrument but it was clearly well taken care of and the body is in phenomenal shape. It has a fair amount of fretwear but is playing beautifully thanks to a pro-setup by our in-house luthier and a new set of 11 gauge strings. It ships in its original black hardshell case with yellow plush interior.

Body: Laminate maple archtop with single cutaway, w/b/w binding and honey burst finish with plenty of finish checking throughout.

Neck: Slim '60s style mahogany neck with bound rosewood fingerboard, split parallelogram inlays, 1.65” nut width and 24 3/4” scale length.

Pickups/Hardware: 2 original patent # sticker humbuckers, 2 volume, 2 tones, 3 way toggle, chrome covers, chrome tailpiece, rosewood floating bridge, Kluson Deluxe tuners and multi-ply black pickguard.

Cosmetics: This guitar was played quite a bit, evident by the wear on the back of the neck where the finish is very checked and worn off in some places. There is lots of finish checking all over the guitar, lots of small nicks and dings around the sides of the body mostly on the bottom. The top and back of the guitar are in great shape with no cracks, major dings or visible repairs. The pickguard is a little dinged in the middle but still functions just fine. The tailpiece is bent in the middle but this also doesn't negatively affect anything and likely could be bent back. There is a repaired hole in the side where a strap button was once mounted. The most notable blemish is a sliver on the bass side of the headstock that was chipped off but glued back down.

Playability: Our in-house guitar tech has just inspected, setup and restrung this guitar with a new set of 11s. The neck is straight, the truss rod is fully functioning and the action has been setup low and comfortable. The frets have a fair amount of wear from frets 1-4 but it still plays beautifully up and down the fingerboard with no dead spots or choking out.

Modifications: There was a strap button installed in the side that has been removed and filled.

Weight: 6 lbs, 8 oz.

Case: This old Gibson comes with the original hardshell case with yellow plush interior and we will ship it professionally packed and fully insured!
