VINTAGE - 1953 Gibson ES-295 electric guitar with original case. This guitar comes from the original owner who bought it new here in Rochester, New York at Levi’s Music Store in 1954. It plays and sounds amazing!! All original with the original Gibson case. The original pickguard has been removed. We even have a vintage photo of the original owner playing this cool guitar for his son at Christmas!!
Scotty Moore played with Elvis Presley and used a ES295 on the first Sun recordings like “That’s All Right Mama” and “Good Rocking Tonight”. Gibson only built 1770 of the original ES295 between 1952 and 1958 which makes it a very rare guitar.
The Gibson ES-295 has a fully hollow body constructed in the ES-175 style, with laminated maple top, back, and solid maple sides with traditional f-holes and a pointed Florentine cutaway. The arched top is supported with spruce braces. It has a glued-in maple neck with bound dark Brazilian rosewood fingerboard inlaid with split-parallelogram position markers, and the headstock is inlaid with the traditional mother-of-pearl crown, a Bale tailpiece with wraparound bar saddle, original gold Kluson tuners, gold speed knobs and a bell truss-rod cover.
This 1953 Gibson ES-295 is a way cool guitar on a lot of levels… a true piece of real Amaracana!!
