Offered for sale;

Used c1972 Gibson ES-330TD serial number 967559.

This thinline is in very good condition, neck and frets are fine.

Cosmetically showing some playing time and an interesting story.

The ES-320TD was Gibson’s attempt at the poor man’s thinline or the Melody Maker of thinlines.

It’s a double Venetian cutaway thinline arched top guitar (T for thinline - D for double cutaway), with a semi hollow bound maple body. The neck is also maple, unlike the ES-330 which had a mahogany neck.

Other features include pearl dot inlays on a rosewood fingerboard, a stamped metal Tune-O-Matic bridge and tailpiece assembly, unlike the ES-330 which had an ABR-1 bridge with a trapeze tailpiece. A single volume and a tone control with 2 pickup selector slide switches was top mounted on a metal plate to dial up the 2 single coil Melody Maker pickups.

ES-320s were made in mostly natural finishes. Some guitars were made in walnut or cherry finishes. Like big brother, the ES-335, it’s a long neck (19 frets to the body) with a center block.

Then somewhere along the way its owner decided to have some fun and soup it up.

Starting from the top, the original tuners were replaced with a set of sealed Gotoh style. At some point humbuckers replaced the Melody Maker thin single coils, then the humbuckers lead way to P-90s (don’t know who made them). A 3 way toggle pickup selector made the 2 sliders dormant. An additional volume and tone control was installed with a side mount output jack. And finally, the stamped metal bridge/tailpiece unit was replaced with a brass Tune-O-Matic bridge and trapeze tailpiece.

What you end up with is a killer thinline like no other. I’ve taken it out for a few spins and loved every minute. Sportin with me, ridin all around town for joy.

Cool guitar, great price!

Hard shell case included.

*Please note: we do our best giving descriptions of used pieces. We have found it impossible to describe every mark on an instrument or amp that is not in the "mint" category. Also, what's important to you may not be important to someone else. For example, you may say, "I don't care what it looks like as long as it plays or sounds well." Another person may say, "Body cosmetics are very important to me so tell me about every scratch, nick and blemish." So, please ask the questions that are most important to you. If you ask they will be answered. They are free and there's no limit. Additional photos can also be made available.

This is a specific item that is also being offered for sale in our brick & mortar location. It is possible that it has just been sold. Please ask if it is still available before purchasing.

*It is our policy to require a signature on delivery of all musical instruments. Please let us know if you prefer no signature required when ordering or we will automatically require a signature.

If you prefer your item to be sent without a required signature Imperial Guitar and the selected carrier can no longer be responsible for the security of the package once it has been delivered.
