I think it's an amazing thing that a guitar can remind you of a person or event from your past. "The good old days" as we call them. When I was a freshman at Lakeshore High School back in 1978, I met a pair of sisters- Tammy and Lisa Thompson. Tammy was a year older than me and was one of the most beautiful girls in the school. Simply stunning. She was in darn near every club, was on the drill team and if memory serves me correctly, was voted most most popular in the Senior accolades. One of the most genuinely sweet girls in the school and thanks to the miracle of Facebook, it appears she's done well in life and has a wonderful family. Well rounded and doing great- Tammy would be an ES-335.

Her younger sister, Lisa, on the other hand was a year younger than me and was the opposite. She was my first "real" girlfriend and the true love of my young life. Man, I cannot put into words how crazy, loopy in love I was with that girl. She was also an exceptionally pretty girl, but was full of piss and vinegar. Lisa had more sass and attitude than a ring full of MMA fighters and we'd go round and round, which would make me even more crazy about her. You know how it is when you were in high school; You'd get into an argument with your girlfriend, break up and then get back together. I can only remember those times with a smile on my face because they were such seminal moment in me trying to figure out how women think. (still working on that one) Lisa would be this ES-330 and how this story came to my mind just by photographing this guitar, I cannot explain, but it goes back to the first sentence I wrote. For a guitar to elicit a fond memory is an awesome thing, which makes playing them an even sweeter experience. I guess the old saying is true after all: "You can't go back forever, but you can always go back for a while." If looking at or strumming a guitar can do that for me, then maybe it can do the same for someone else and as I round second base in life, that's not such a bad thing to do every now and then...
