1965 Gibson ES-330 TD Sunburst, Excellent, Hard, $3,500.00

Summary: Introduced in 1959 to replace the discontinued ES-225, the 330 features the silhouette of the iconic 335, but is fully hollow and equipped with two punchy P90s.

Body: Thin-body, double cutaway, fully hollow maple-ply. Bound arched top and back. F-holes. Tobacco sunburst nitrocellulose finish. 16″ across lower bout.

Neck: Mahogany set neck with bound rosewood fingerboard. Joins body at 15th fret. Small block inlays. 24 ¾” scale length. 1 11/16” nut width.

Pickups/Hardware: Two dog ear P90 pickups. Three way pickup selector. Two volume and two tone controls with gold top hat reflector knobs. Chrome covers and hardware. ABR bridge with nylon saddles.
Trapeze tail piece. Kluson tuners marked Gibson Deluxe with green tulip buttons.

Cosmetics: This guitar is in excellent condition. It has a beautiful deep sunburst finish with some light crazing near the bridge posts and a scattering of superficial scratches. There are two small spots on the back of the neck where the finish has been worn down. A few of the fret inlays have started to lift. The binding has yellowed nicely and evenly, and shows no disintegration or separation.

Playability: The action is low with no buzz or dead spots. The wider style string spacing makes room for runs and complex chording. The hollow, thin-line body is comfortable, light, and more feedback resistant that a full-depth archtop, while providing a warmer, fuller tone than a semi-hollow, a factor enhanced by the original P90s.

Mods/Repairs: Original tuners replaced with later “Gibson Deluxe” tuners.
