2002 Gibson ES-333 Cherry

Excellent condition featuring double cutaway laminated maple semi-hollow Electro Spanish body shape, single bound top and back body edges, two unbound F holes, two Gibson 57 Classic humbucking pickups with cream plastic pickup surrounds, two volume controls and two tone controls with gold plastic reflector top knobs, three way pickup selector switch with white plastic switch tip, stop tailpiece and fully adjustable wired ABR-1 bridge, set mahogany neck, bound rosewood fingerboard with pearloid dot inlays starting at the third fret, bone nut, Gibson open book peghead shape, black peghead face with gold Gibson logo, multi-ply black and white plastic bell shaped truss rod cover, Gibson Deluxe tuning machines with green plastic keystone tuner buttons, serial number and Made In USA impressed into the back of the peghead, single ply black plastic electronics cavity cover plate, two metal strap buttons, nickel plated metal hardware and black Tolex covered Gibson hard shell case. This instrument weighs 8lb 5oz.

This 2002 Gibson ES-333 is in excellent condition. This guitar shows some slight signs of play wear including some very faint pick scratches on the body and a few very tiny dings throughout. Otherwise, this ES-333 is very clean and is in great shape. The original pickups and pickup rings have been professionally replaced with a set of Gibson 57 Classics and a set of cream plastic pickup rings that match the body binding quite well. The gold reflector top knobs are not original and the original strap buttons have been changed out to set of Schaller locking units. This guitar features a great feeling neck profile that is somewhere between a 60s slim taper and a medium rounded “C” shape with a 1 11/16” nut width. This neck is extremely comfortable and easy to play. The medium jumbo fret wire on this guitar is in excellent condition and shows virtually no play wear. This instrument has been set up and it plays outstanding up and down the rosewood fingerboard with low, smooth action and spot on intonation. The electronics in the guitar are in perfect operating order and the 57 Classic humbucking pickups REALLY sound exceptional in this guitar. The tone from this instrument is very articulate and woody with plenty of bite. Perfect for overdriven and clean tones alike. Everyone at the shop has been extremely impressed with the tone and overall vibe of this ES-333. I honestly think that it would be tricky to find another Gibson ES at this price point that sounds better than this example. The Gibson ES-333 was built by Gibson from 2002 to 2005. These models differed from the ES-335 in a few different ways such as a gold silk screened logo with no further peghead appointments, a thin satin nitrocellulose finish, aged white binding, an ABR-1 style bridge and electronics cavity access panel. The 333 was a more stripped down, player focused guitar with a really great vintage feel and look. This ES-333 is housed in its Gibson hard shell case for safe travels and is a true gem!
