A great playing late (bound neck) 58. These 58's had a thinner top than in subsequent years making them more resonant and more fragile around the jack. Most have a crack or two or three there which is why Gibson went to the thicker tops in 1959. This has those cracks and has been well repaired. This guitar is all original except for the bridge-the original is the thin version and like all of them, collapsed in the middle. The current bridge is a correct no wire ABR-1 shaved down to accommodate the shallow neck angle of the typical 58. Original bridge is included. Sealed PAF's. Humongous neck profile-.94" at the first fret and 1.02" at the 12th. That's as big as any I've seen. Original frets. Case is the original Lifton.
