Description

A vintage dot neck 335 is a distant and unattainable dream for a lot of players. Sure there are lots of good newer ones and some good ones from the 80's but a real 58-62 dot neck is a $20,000-$50,000 endeavor isn't it? Not this one. Pay attention. There's a reason this one will cost you less. The good news? Original finish, no breaks and factory stop tail. Never had a Bigsby or other tailpiece. Bad news? No bad news, just some changed parts and a reversed mod. The parts are nearly all vintage but not date correct. The pickups are patent number (pre T-tops) from around 65-66. Tuners are double lines, also from 65-66. The bridge is a patent number but is nickel so, again, 65-66. Knobs are original 61. The guard is a good repro (this guitar is a factory long guard) as is the switch tip. Truss cover is from 65. The tailpiece and studs are repros. Bridge posts, thumbwheels and strap buttons are original. The harness is a brand new Creamtone with vintage bumblebee caps. The guitar had a P90 in the neck and the rout was slightly enlarged. It has been expertly filled and there is a thin strip of black plastic covering the area. You could remove it if desired. Case is from the 80's. This guitar could be slowly returned to nearly collector grade. The condition is 9/10. Plays and sounds great. If original, this would be a $22,000-$24000 guitar.
