Description

I get player grade stuff, I get collector grade stuff, I get museum grade stuff but sometimes you get something in between that's clean enough and original enough (meaning all original) for a collector but it's got lots of wear from players over the years who never messed with it. That's a very long sentence but you get the idea. Nice guitar, nearly all original but played it's whole life. The neck has borne the brunt of the years. The frets are replaced and the fingerboard is a little rutted down at the cowboy end and the back of the neck has most of its finish worn off. But it's all there. There is some touchup at the neck join-it was either re-set or simply reglued. No break. It's a late enough 63 that it got the big neck like a 64. It's relatively slim at the first fret with a good bit of shoulder. The taper is pronounced-it's .99" by the 12th fret. That's 58-59 territory-it's big. It's no surprise that this particular profile is so popular with players. And only late 63's, 64's and early 65's have it. The neck pickup is a PAF and the bridge is a patent number-same pickup, different sticker. We'll price this like a player as stop tail block necks are getting a little out of control lately. Original Lifton case in fair condition with a busted latch.
