Every once in a while a guitar shows up that looks like it just left the factory. This one is pretty close to that. If not for some light tarnish to the nickel parts, I'd be calling this guitar mint but we'll go with near mint. It was played but it was somebody's baby. There is light wear to the lower frets but no wear to the guitar. There are no dings or scratches or fade or checking. It is in gorgeous 9+ condition. It is a very late 64-one of the last ones made that year and has the original double line Klusons that transitioned in at the end of 64. Pickups are patent number ( a PAF with a different sticker). I'm not a big fan of the Maestro Vibrola but they do work well. I just don't like teh way they look on a 335. But that's just me. The guitar is an excellent player and the neck is one of the best profiles Gibson ever made. Not all 64's have the same neck. Some are really slim at the first fret with too much shoulder and not enough depth. This one is .84" at the first and 1.01" at the 12th. That's a near perfect profile. I wish my 59 had this neck. Case is original and near mint as well. This guitar may never have left the house. If it wasn't such a good player, I'd say it belongs in a museum. Original hang tag, instruction sheets and the case key-still stapled in its envelope-never opened.
