1965 Gibson ES-335 Sunburst (Re-Necked)
The body is 64/64 and has the original "patent sticker" humbucking pickups, original pickguard, pots, and knobs. The covers have been of and on the pickups. When the new neck was put on the guitar was converted from having a trapeze tailpiece to earlier 50s spec with the stop-tail.
We do not know the identity of the luthier who crafted the new neck but they did a heckuva job. It's pretty spot-on for Gibson of the era. The shape of the headstock is correct and in the inlays could not have been done better. The neck binding was also installed correctly and shaped along with the frets. There is a serial number on the headstock but it does not correspond with any correct Gibson records. There is an original orange label inside the f-hole but it has faded.
The neck measure 1-11/16" wide at the nut and tapers from 0.80" thick at the 1st fret to 0.90" at the 12th but feels a little more generous with good "shoulders." The guitar weighs in at 7 lb 15 oz.
