1973 Gibson ES-335 semi-hollow electric guitar in a beautiful TRANSLUCENT WALNUT FINISH - 100% Original and in Excellent overall condition - with original purple-lined Gibson hardshell case, serial number 183XXX Made in USA. This great old 335 from the Norlin era of Gibson features the coveted Gibson 'patent number sticker' humbuckers, along with a factory Bigsby, and all chrome factory parts. There is a very nice 'broken-in' feel to this 335, despite the fact that she's really quite clean cosmetically. You will find light scratches and a couple of very minor dinks, as well as some wear to the chrome pickup covers - and a nice yellowing of the creme binding - but all this adds up to a really nice vintage patina from top to bottom. Slender mahogany neck, and nice wide 70s style frets round out this beauty. The frets are in really good shape - lots of life left - and there is a some very very light finish checking - and a bit of checking in the finish right at the neck and body join, on the guitar's back. Action is low and easy, and she pumps out the great warm and ballsy tone that these old Gibson pickups produce, while also generating some great chimey and clangy rhythm. Great stuff. Please feel free to call 859-261-5500 for an in hand description. Thanks.
